PRESERVING OUR VALUE CHAIN SINCE 1850
With up to 5 tons of natural materials processed every day, our company possesses
unique expertise in the art of enhancing down, mastering every step of the process,
from the selection of the finest duck and goose feathers,washing, sterilization, sorting and assembly, right through to the final product.
Washing the feathers After a rigorous selection process, duck and goose feathers and down are collected and washed. Mastering of this process is essential to preserving the down's natural properties: unrivalled purity, softness and fluff.
Drying the feathers The feathers and down are then carefully dried at high temperature and all dust removed. This is an essential step in sterilizing and preserving the feathers and down.
Sorting the feathers The down is then separated from the feathers in an aerial ballet thanks to an air blower that carries out the sorting without damaging the down. Each component is thus isolated and ready for assembly.
Combining the feathers and down The assembly of these natural components is one of the most delicate steps requiring real know-how: our experts compose these combinations according to different in-house recipes. The feathers and down are combined according to the desired comfort of the duvet or pillow, guaranteeing consistent quality.
The blowing process This is where the product comes to life: each feather/down combination is weighed before being blown into the duvet cover. The filling is evenly distributed throughout the duvet and up into the corners of the pillows, providing for optimum fluff.
The manufacturing process The quality of the fabric cover also plays an important role in the durability and softness of the duvet or pillow. Its composition, thread count, and weave are all important elements to ensure that the filling stays put. From the selection of the fabric to its manufacture, every detail is taken care of, right up to the finishing touches carried out by our seamstresses.
Quality control Each Drouault product is meticulously inspected and controlled at key stages of manufacture to guarantee its quality grade. All our products are certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
Folding and packing The duvets and mattress topper are carefully folded. Like the pillows, they are then placed in protective packaging appropriate to their size. This packaging can be reused at home.
Delivery Our teams pay particular attention to the quality of our deliveries and to meeting delivery deadlines.
